We are excited to welcome Jeff Molby, a Rotarian from Caro, Michigan where he's also been volunteering for the American Cancer Society. He's a minimalist who loves to travel, so in October 2023, he sold everything and set off on a multi-year bike tour around the country to promote the American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery Program. Road to Recovery links people who have no way of getting treatment to volunteer drivers who can take them to their appointments. ACS recently named him their 2024 Patient Support Volunteer of the Year for his efforts.
His journey from avid cyclist to advocate has helped connect cancer fighters with the support they need, proving that perseverance on the road mirrors the strength needed to fight cancer and recruit people who can make a difference. Join us to hear his story, learn about the impact of ChemoRiders, and discover how you can contribute to this meaningful cause.
This event is free and open to all. First-time visitors will receive a free dinner! Come early, grab a drink, and network before the talk begins. Mar 24, 2025 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
All of our meetings our free and are open to the general public.
In place of our regular meeting on Monday, March 24th, we will join Texas Rotaract and the Austin Cosmopolitan Rotary Club on a joint service project to assemble snack packs for The Other Ones Foundation, an Austin nonprofit supporting unhoused individuals. We'll focus on soft, easy-to-eat items like water, soft bars, tuna, and sweets.
Instead of our usual meeting place (Shoal Creek) and meeting time, we will meet at 5PM at the UT campus in Benedict Hall (BEN 1.122), located at 150 W 21st St, Austin, TX 78712. There should be plenty of parking at the UT garages.
Please don't miss this opportunity to spend time with our Rotaract Club and our Cosmo friends, and to do some hands on service work.
