Dr. Manny Gonzalez, ACC Board of Trustees

On Monday, January 16th at 6:30 PM, we will hold an in person club meeting. Our speakers will be Dr. Manny Gonzalez, ACC Board of Trustees.

Our meetings are now at Shoal Creek Saloon, located at 909 N. Lamar Blvd.

About Dr. Manny Gonzalez,

Dr. Manny Gonzalez was appointed as Trustee for Place 5 Austin Community College in April 2022.

Dr. Gonzalez also serves as Regional Director for Western Governors University (WGU), a nonprofit, online university established in 1997 by 19 U.S. governors to expand access to higher education across the nation. Through this work, he expands access to higher education and builds pathways to careers in the high-demand, high-need workforce fields of education, nursing/healthcare, IT, and business.

Prior to joining WGU, Dr. Gonzalez served as Executive Director for the Community College Association of Texas Trustees. His career also includes work for the University of Texas at Austin, the Texas House of Representatives, and the White House Domestic Policy Council. Dr. Gonzales also currently serves on the Board of Friends of the Children and the Austin Community Foundation.

Dr. Gonzalez has a BA in Management from Trinity University and an M. ED. And Ph.D. in Education from the University of Texas.

2PM at Green Pastures. Ken's family has requested that in lieu flowers, contributions
may be made to Manos de Cristo or Doctors Without Borders.

EAFK Knighting Ceremony at Pecan Springs ES

All club members are invited to attend the Early Act First Knight (EAFK) Knighting Ceremony at Pecan Springs Elementary.
Our club is a co-sponsor of EAFK.

The knighting ceremony is the reward component of the EAFK program. Attended by all students (not just awardees), faculty, Rotarian advisors, special guests and parents of student awardees, this 40-minute presentation honors select students who excel in EAFK academics and service, while encouraging all students to participate in the EAFK service club.

The event starts at 8:30 AM, but please arrive at 8 AM to pick up your badge from the front desk.
