About Austin ISD Bonds,
Although there were two different proposals, each proposal addressed partial or complete campus modernizations, district wide technology upgrades and secure entry points. Proposition A would cost $1.55 billion with no tax rate increase. In addition to the campus modernizations, technology upgrades and secure doors, there would also be bus replacements, critical deficiencies fixed across the district and competition fields built at all high schools. Alternatively, Proposition B would cost $2.18 billion and have a $0.01 tax rate increase. This proposition includes everything in Proposition A in addition to seven more full or partial campus modernizations, increased technology investments and teacher housing as well as more upgrades to athletic, and visual and performing arts facilities.

Aug 01, 2022 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
On Monday, August 1st at 6:30 PM, we will hold an in person club meeting. Our speaker will be Dan Waddle.
Our meetings are now at Shoal Creek Saloon, located at 909 N. Lamar Blvd.
Background of the Classification Talk,
When Rotary was established by Paul Harris and three others, each person came from a different walk of life. This diversity is a cornerstone of Rotary. The intent is to have in your club a cross-section of business and professional experiences in your community.
For decades Rotary International listed a range of professional “classifications” and restricted how many representatives of each could be in a club. This ensures that each club reflects the community in which it serves. It also reminds us to not have one profession as a dominant voice in our club. Over time, these restrictions have pretty much given way, but your classification continues to be of great interest to your fellow club members. That’s why your Rotary badge carries your name and your classification.
Classification talks help us learn about the life experiences and professional backgrounds of new members – but they are not intended to “pitch” your profession for individual gain.
